Willow Frame Basket Workshop

Join basketmaker Louise Arthur from Rough Around the Hedges for this exciting & friendly workshop.

Make a beautiful bowl-shaped basket with a twisted willow handle, then fill in the bowl by rhythmically weaving the flexible rods. Your creation will be perfect for fruit, eggs, vegetables or as a small stylish shopper.

Although suitable for beginners with no experience, a full day of weaving can be tiring. No previous experienec is necessary although some manual dexterity and patience will be required. This workshop is suitable for adults only. Bring sharp secateurs if you have them and wear old trousers and sensible footwear. If you have suffered a recent injury, suffer from RSI, carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritis please check before booking, as you may find this workshop challenging. Please let us know if you suffer from any joint pain or have had a recent injury.

£90 p/p including all materials and lunch.

We became members of Exbury for the first time last year and loved seeing the change of seasons. What a joy to find Davdii in bloom and discover the huge waxy cups of Liriodendron. To see the development of the whole around the sundial garden was magical and we found we could identify all we wanted to from the clear, informative board.
