Play Area

Our adventure play area is now open to the public following changes to government guidance

The following measures are in place to ensure that visitors can use the the play apartus as safely as possible:

  • Only one child or a group of children from the same household on each piece of equipment
  • Socially-distanced queue markings outside the entrance to the play area
  • One-way system in operation
  • Five-minute time limit on each piece of equipment (at busy times)
  • One accompanying adult per household allowed in play area
  • Sanitising station located at play area entrance
  • All touch points cleaned regularly by staff

Whilst the equipment within the play area is cleaned regularly, we recommend that accompanying adults bring their own sanitising gel or wipes for cleaning their children’s hands and equipment as necessary.

Our adventure play area is the perfect way for children to let off steam while you sit on one of our picnic benches and relax.

Opened in 2014, the adventure play area has rope and climbing play for all ages to enjoy, plus swings, a play hut and springers.

Toilets and baby changing facilities are located close by.

‘We recently had some friends from London to visit and were looking for something to entertain our young children for the day. We decided to give Exbury Gardens a try and I thought it was wonderful. We had Sunday lunch in the restaurant and the food was far superior to other local attractions so compliments to the chef. Walking through the gardens was beautiful with lots of little pathways to explore. I have lived in the Romsey area for many years and always thought Exbury was a little out of the way but it only took me 20 minutes from the motorway. We will definitely be a regular visitor from now on.’
