Christmas at Exbury – everything you need to know

Christmas at Exbury is a truly magical event. This year it will be held over the weekends of 29-30 November and 6-7 December.  We look forward to welcoming you to the festivities!

Visitors to this year’s event can enjoy a host of activities, such as:

DAYTIME EVENTS 10am to 4pm

The Christmas Fair

The Christmas Fair forms the centrepiece of our Christmas at Exbury event, and is open from 10am to 7.30pm on Saturday 29 November and Saturday 6 December, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday 30 November and Sunday 7 December.

Our Christmas Fair will feature a fantastic line-up of local producers with more than 75 traders across the two weekends and festive food and drink.

Christmas Fair tickets (which also provide access to the gardens) are £6.50 per adult (£7.15 including Gift Aid), and free for children, Friends of Exbury members and carers.

Meet Father Christmas

We have persuaded Father Christmas to visit Exbury once again to give more lucky children the opportunity to meet him and take home a lovely festive gift.  He will be back in his special railway carriage in the engine shed, which will be transformed into a festive winter wonderland.

Tickets are £11 per child, or £10 for Friends of Exbury members.

Please note that Christmas Fair tickets are required in addition to tickets to Meet Father Christmas.

Festive Express Railway Experience

The elves are in trouble yet again! Help them prevent another Christmas catastrophe and get the festivities back on track.

This is a 30-minute live action, interactive experience not to be missed.

Tickets are £9.50 per person, or £8.50 for Friends of Exbury members.  Children under 3 are free.

Please note that Christmas Fair tickets are required in addition to Festive Express tickets.

Donkey Rides

Back by popular demand, Parc Ponies are returning to Exbury with their beautiful donkeys as part of our Christmas at Exbury event.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Age and weight limit restrictions apply.

Tickets are £4 per child. Please note that Christmas Fair tickets are required in addition to donkey ride tickets.

Free Festive Garden Trail (Included in Christmas Fair tickets)

Free Arts & Crafts (Included in Christmas Fair tickets)

Visit the engine shed which will be transformed into a festive winter wonderland, where children can write a letter to Father Christmas, and make a Christmas wish to hang on our tree or take home.

EVENING EVENTS 6pm to 8pm (admission from 4.00pm)

We are very keen to develop Christmas at Exbury, to allow us to offer the best possible visitor experience. With this in mind, we have decided to trial the idea of merging the daytime and evening events by keeping the Christmas Fair open until 7.30pm on both Saturdays of this year’s Christmas at Exbury weekends. As there will be no access to the gardens on these evenings, there will be no charge to enter the Christmas Fair after 4pm, and tickets are not required.

This has only been possible thanks to our wonderful Christmas traders, whose support has been amazing.

Christmas Night Train

This year, the gardens are set to shine even brighter as we unveil an enchanting illuminated steam train ride around the woodland gardens after dark.

Promising to be a highlight for families and railway enthusiasts alike, trains will run at 6pm, 6.45pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets are £20 per person, or £18 for Friends of Exbury members.  Children under 3 are free.  Ticket price includes admission to the railway via the gardens (which are not otherwise open).

The Christmas Night Train journey will be approximately 30 minutes long.

Meet Father Christmas in the Evening

For the first time we have persuaded Father Christmas to stay on at Exbury into the evening to give more lucky children the opportunity to meet him and take home a lovely festive gift.

After a little nap following his busy day here, he will be back in his special railway carriage in the engine shed, which will be transformed into a festive winter wonderland.

Tickets are £11 per child, or £10 for Friends of Exbury members.

Please note that tickets include access to the engine shed via the gardens (which are not otherwise open).

If you would like to book tickets to multiple events, please add the first event tickets to your basket and then click on RETURN TO HOMEPAGE and then WHAT’S ON to take you back to to select your next tickets.  This will not lose what is in your basket.  When you have finished selecting your tickets, click on CHECKOUT.
