The Main Lawn
Exbury Gardens offers a delightful outside site suitable for the medium to larger size marquee reception. The Main Lawn site boasts views of Exbury House, still the private residence of the Rothschild family, with its lawns and magnificent trees. The facility fee covers functions for up to 250 guests. Additional guests are charged at £8.00 per person (including VAT). Exbury can put you in touch with marquee providers and caterers to help you plan and cost your big day.
The Engine Shed
The Exbury Engine Shed, whilst a working site, is a large-scale atmospheric space, which is licensed for 120 persons for a formal seated event. Combined with a ride on the Exbury steam train for you and your guests after the ceremony, the Engine Shed provides a real talking point for your special day.
Mr Eddy’s Restaurant & Tearooms
Mr Eddy’s Restaurant & Tearooms is our refurbished and extended catering establishment. This bright and clean venue with rustic beams and stone-clad flooring provides a relaxed country-style atmosphere. The Restaurant will comfortably accommodate 60 persons seated formally, or up to 100 persons for an informal function. The Tearooms will also accommodate a formal seating plan for 60 persons, or up to 150 guests for less formal events. Our resident caterers, Pabulum Ltd, will be happy to cater for your reception in the Restaurant or Tearooms.
The Tennis Court Tea Gardens
The delightful Tennis Court Tea Gardens provide a secluded area within the Gardens for a more informal outside event. With yew hedging around gravel and a paved courtyard, and two fixed covered areas, this is a very attractive location for the smaller reception. The Tennis Court Tea Gardens are adjacent to the Sundial Garden, an exotic oasis within the woodland gardens, suitable for early evening pre-reception drinks and only a short distance from the Main Lawn marquee site.
Hosting your reception at Exbury Gardens gives you the opportunity to enter the Gardens through the private gates and driveway – only used by the Rothschild family, invited guests and royalty. We attend to your guests parking and ensure signs are clearly displayed to advise locations of the facilities available. Our team is also on standby to assist in the smooth running of your reception. Unless you request differently, Exbury will arrange road-side and Gardens signage to direct your guests, placement of ‘shrub tubs’ to decorate the entrance to your marquee and provision of 4 picnic benches outside the marquee.
