Magnolias
Magnolias are amongst the earliest floral delights at Exbury, although the flowering season extends well into the summer months for the larger flowering species.
The genus is named after French botanist Pierre Magnol. Magnolias are amongst the oldest plants on the earth - fossilised remains of magnolias have been dated to 20 million years ago.
