Magnolia surprise at Exbury
The bitter winter has produced a bonus for March and April visitors to Exbury – a late flowering for the spectacular Magnolia campbellii whose extraordinary pink blooms may be seen in the 200-acre Gardens’ Home Wood.
“These enormous trees normally bloom in February, before we open,” said head gardener, John Anderson.“ This year they have been held back and are coming into flower now.”
