What to see in the garden on your visit:

Another very cold winter was experienced at Exbury with the pre-Christmas snow looking very scenic, but this is always a bit of a headache for the Gardening team!

The milder weather of the past three weeks has seen lots of colour develop within the Gardens, though we’re still very wary of overnight frosts.

The Heather Beds on the way to Home Wood are providing  excellent displays of colour from both the flowers of the various heathers and foliage of the conifers.

From Home Wood  main path to  Top Pond look out for the very large flowering tree of  Magnolia campbellii from the Himalayas with large pink flowers. Close by Home Wood Top Pond are good specimens of Rh. ‘Elizabeth’ with deep red flowers. At the bottom end of this walk Rhododendron ‘Red Admiral’ is putting on a good show of colour.
The Japanese Bridge & cascades have a good display of Hellborus orientalis in full flower.

The Winter Garden on the way to the View Point has some interesting large leaved Rhododendrons including Rh ‘Robin Hood’ a magnificent hybrid raised  by Lionel de Rothschild

The New Camellia Walk is looking good with several  varieties of Camellia and Magnolia in flower.

Lots of native Primroses, Fritillaries and Lungwort’s will soon be flowering through out the gardens but especially in Yard Wood above the Jubilee Pond.

The Daffodil Meadow is in full flower, with splendid views to the Beaulieu River.

Don’t miss the excellent display of Lachenalias in the Five Arrows Gallery, complemented by displays of Springtime Art by Marianna Kneller and Peter Thwaites.

We look forward to welcoming you on an early spring visit to the Gardens.
