What to look out for in the garden on your visit:
The Heather Beds on the way to Home Wood are providing excellent displays of colour from both the flowers of the various heathers and foliage of the conifers.
From Home Wood main path to Top Pond look out for a large flowering tree of Magnolia ‘Charles Raffill’ a large pink flowering tree near Top Pond. There are lots of rhododendrons coming into flower, look out for Rh. ‘Elizabeth’ with red flowers.
In Witcher’s Wood look out for the spectacular Rh ‘Avalanche with cascading white scented flowers.
By the Wiggly Tree in the Home Wood there are some Snakes Head Fritillary (Fritillaria meleagris) in full flower.
The Winter Garden on the way to the View Point has some interesting large leaved rhododendrons including Rh.’Churchill’ a magnificent hybrid raised by Lionel de Rothschild.
The New Camellia Walk is looking good with several varieties of Camellia and Magnolia’s, especially Magnolia ‘Milky Way’. The Gardens Camellia Collection was highlighted as one of the best in country on BBC Gardeners World on Fri 1 April, and it is currently at its peak.
By the Daffodil Meadow which is still flowering is a beautiful ornamental cherry tree called Prunus x yeodensis
Lots of native Primroses and Lungwort’s are flowering throughout the gardens.
Enjoy the spectacular "Four Seasons Art" Exhibition with many spectacular botanical paintings from Monday 18 April.
