Exbury voted one of top UK gardens.

Thousands of readers of the popular BBC Gardeners World magazine have voted Exbury one of their favourite gardens to visit – and one of the top gardens in the country for children to enjoy.
Earlier this year readers were asked to name their all-time favourite gardens, split into seven regions, and Exbury was voted in the top three in the south-east region, joining Waterperry and Pashley Manor.
When it came to the best gardens for kids to visit, Exbury was named top in the south-east region.
These votes come hot on the heels of the Mail on Sunday naming Exbury as one of the top ten greatest gardens in the country and the Daily Mail putting it in their top ten spectacular spring gardens. The Daily Telegraph went one better, ranking the 200-acre woodland Garden as one of their top five to visit in spring.
Staff and trustees at Exbury are delighted.
“To have gardening journalists naming us among the best gardens in the country is terrific, said Nick de Rothschild, whose family manage Exbury, which is run as a charitable trust. “But what pleases us most of all is that members of the public – our visitors – have given us this huge vote of confidence. It’s a wonderful accolade for the whole gardening team,” he said.
Exbury is celebrating its annual ‘Glory of the Garden’, when the spectacular Rothschild collections of rhododendrons and azaleas are at their very best.
“Exbury reaches the peak of perfection in mid-May, and carries on looking magnificent for several weeks,” said Nick. “We hope all those who voted for us will manage to visit at this time.”
Among the attractions for children at Exbury is the steam railway, transporting visitors through the garden on a magical journey of discovery.
