This page contains information relating to access arrangements and facilities at Exbury. Summary information is shown below, or you can open / download a full Exbury Access Statement (see above) or an access map and summary document available to visitors on arrival.

Car Parking

Bays for blue badge holders are at the front of the main car park nearest to the Gardens entrance.

Visitors with disabilities

The Gardens are fairly level with the main paths being suitable for wheelchairs. Carers are admitted free of charge into the Gardens on a one to one basis when accompanying a disabled person, who pays the normal admission rate. Please advise the Gate team of your carer status.

Wheelchairs

Exbury provides a limited number of wheelchairs (non motorized) free of charge, available on a first come first served basis from the admission gate. Wheelchair access maps identify routes suitable for wheelchairs and are obtainable at the Admission Gate. Please ensure you ask for one. Motorised scooters are welcomed in the Gardens as long as users keep to the recommended pathways.

Exbury Gardens Railway

Has 4 railway carriages adapted to accommodate wheelchairs. Passengers can leave the train at Exbury North Station and explore this part of the Gardens, before returning on a later train (space permitting). Groups requiring more than one accessible carriage to be fitted are asked to advise in advance (tel: 023 8089 1203) so this can be arranged without disrupting the published timetable. Railway tickets should be purchased at the Visitor Entrance.  Groups (15 or more paying individuals) may pre-book railway tickets at £3 per person.

Facilities / Toilets / Baby changing

The Gift Shop, Plant Centre (part), Five Arrows Gallery, Mr Eddy's Tea Rooms are all wheelchair accessible. Toilets are located near the Gardens entrance; Exbury Central Station; the Herbaceous and Grasses Garden near Exbury House and the Tennis Court Tea Garden. Baby changing facilities are in main toilet areas or within those offering disabled facilities. Toilets are suitable for wheelchair / ambulant access.

Chauffeur driven buggy trips

Exbury's buggy service is designed to enable visitors with limited mobility to access the main areas of interest within the Gardens.  The chauffeur-driven buggy trips operate on a set route around the Gardens and stop in designated areas where passengers will have the opportunity to disembark.  A comlete trip lasts approximately 40 minutes.  Buggies operate as a timetabled service on a first-come, first-served basis and visitors should be advised that queues can be expected, particularly in May and June.

Tickets for the buggy service cost £4.00 per person.

Buggies can accommodate up to 12 passengers.

Buggies cannot be pre-booked except unless chartered by a group of 15 or more paying individuals.
