Exbury reflects the changing moods of nature. Early spring sees
the magnolias and camellias burst into flower, whilst the Daffodil
Meadow is a carpet of glorious gold. In mid-spring the rhodododendrons
and azaleas are at their peak and full of vibrant colour. Late spring
sees wisteria in flower in many parts of the gardens, with candelabra
primulas framing the cascades and the Bog and Iris Gardens at their
best.
The full bloom of the Sundial Garden and Herbaceous and Grasses
Garden announces the arrival of summer. This is also the best time
to enjoy travelling through the Summer Lane Garden on the Exbury
Gardens Steam Railway. There are many shady pathways and a lovely
River Walk along the banks of the Beaulieu to keep our summer visitors
nice and cool!
Autumn follows bringing spectacular displays of colour from the
Japanese maples, deciduous azaleas and dogwoods that flourish. A
special autumn trail leads to the best of the colour. A stunning
display each autumn in the Five Arrows Gallery showcases Exbury's
collection of Nerine sarniensis.
