Azalea Bowl

The Azalea Bowl was created around the Middle Pond by the post-war Head Gardener, Freddie Wynniat. The fine displays of evergreen Kurume azaleas from Japan can almost be described as outrageous with a bold mix of blazing reds, shocking pinks, fuchsias, mauves and whites.
